As a pipeline specialist with many years of relevant experience within the pipeline services sector, A. Hak Industrial Services can offer a range of integrated services applicable to new and existing pipelines and pipeline systems.
A full range of services are offered, these include:
- hydrostatic and pneumatic testing;
- drying;
- pigging;
- hot tapping and stoppling;
- gas leak detection;
- cleaning;
- inspection;
- innercure (in-situ coating).
Hydrotesting and pneumatic testing
The hydrotesting of pipelines and pipeline systems can be undertaken in accordance with a variety of standards which include BS 8010, ASME B31, British Gas BGC/DS/Part 1, 2 & 3, IGE/ID/1 and others when requested.
A full range of certified equipment is available to undertake most pipeline testing requirements. Equipment available in-house includes flooding and fill pumps, test pumps, break tanks, test ends, temperature and pressure monitoring and recording instrumentation. Pneumatic testing is carried out when hydrotesting is not acceptable for contamination reasons.
Drying
Drying of pipelines can be accomplished using a variety of techniques, which may be preceeded by pre-cleaning and swabbing using suitable pigs. The method or combination of methods selected will depend on the final dewpoint requirement, cleanliness criteria, the configuration and complexity of the pipeline or pipeline system.
The methods available include: vacuum drying, superdry air drying, nitrogen drying and if necessary, methanol swabbing.
Pigging
Pigging applications forms a major part of our pipeline services. These services are required during testing, cleaning, drying, product removal, gauging and inspection.
Hard and soft scale can be removed by propelling cleaning pigs with water, product, air or nitrogen. Pipelines containing products, such as hydrocarbon liquids, chemicals and gases can be removed by displacing pigs with nitrogen. Gauging and inspection of lines is achieved by the use of specialist pigs.
Many types of pigs in a variety of sizes are available to suit most pipeline pigging applications. Temporary pig traps and all other necessary ancilliary equipment can be provided as necessary.
